Critically acclaimed television and film star Jessica Alba burst onto the scene at the tender age of 13. Born Jessica Marie Alba on April 28, 1981, her first film appearance was the 1994 comedy Camp Nowhere and that same year she appeared on the TV series The Secret World of Alex Mack. Jessica’s lead role in the televisions series Dark Angel from 2000-2002 is what help to catapult her into stardom. Afterwards she landed the role as the Invisible Woman, Susan Storm, in the sci-fi films The Fantastic Four and The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Not many know it but as a child, Alba suffered from several physical illnesses including a collapsed lung twice, pneumonia, asthma, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Besides taking the film industry by storm, Jessica Alba has also become known as quite a sex symbol, generating an enormous amount of media attention everywhere she goes. In the popular men’s magazine Maxim, Jessica is often features in the “Hot 100″ section. In fact, in 2001 she was ranked #1. In the year 2006, Alba made it onto AskMen.com’s list of “99 Most Desirable Women.”

What’s more, the following year she was named “Sexiest Woman in the World” by FHM. Jessica Alba has been recognized for her many accomplishments with various awards in both film and television. She took home a Choice Actress Teen Choice Award and a Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television. Additionally she received a Golden Globe nomination for her lead role in the Dark Angel television series.

Jessica Alba, for many people, is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood and has been winning over her fans (and bringing in new ones) almost constantly since her break out role in Idle Hands alongside Devon Sawa in 1999 and her incredible role in the television series Dark Angel. However, she has been in many more movies than people think.

Her first movie was Camp Nowhere in 1994 when she played the role of Gail. Next up was Venus Rising in 1995 as young Eve at which point she disappeared until 1999. 1999 saw P.U.N.K.S., Never Been Kissed and Idle Hands. Paranoid came next in 2000 and in 2003 The Sleeping Dictionary and Honey. In 2005 she had roles in Sin City, Into the Blue and the Fantastic Four with several acting award nominations.

After a two year reprieve there was Good Luck Chuck, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Awake, Knocked Up and The Ten. 2008 brought The Eye, Meet Bill and The Love Guru. Finally, in 2010, she was Machete, The Killer Inside Me, Valentine’s Day, Little Fockers and An Invisible Sign. This leaves many people wondering what she will be working on for 2011 and 2012 as they sit by and enjoy the other twenty-four films that she has been able to make in just sixteen years.
