Critically acclaimed television and film star Jessica Alba burst onto the scene at the tender age of 13. Born Jessica Marie Alba on April 28, 1981, her first film appearance was the 1994 comedy Camp Nowhere and that same year she appeared on the TV series The Secret World of Alex Mack. Jessica’s lead role in the televisions series Dark Angel from 2000-2002 is what help to catapult her into stardom. Afterwards she landed the role as the Invisible Woman, Susan Storm, in the sci-fi films The Fantastic Four and The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Not many know it but as a child, Alba suffered from several physical illnesses including a collapsed lung twice, pneumonia, asthma, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Besides taking the film industry by storm, Jessica Alba has also become known as quite a sex symbol, generating an enormous amount of media attention everywhere she goes. In the popular men’s magazine Maxim, Jessica is often features in the “Hot 100″ section. In fact, in 2001 she was ranked #1. In the year 2006, Alba made it onto AskMen.com’s list of “99 Most Desirable Women.”
What’s more, the following year she was named “Sexiest Woman in the World” by FHM. Jessica Alba has been recognized for her many accomplishments with various awards in both film and television. She took home a Choice Actress Teen Choice Award and a Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television. Additionally she received a Golden Globe nomination for her lead role in the Dark Angel television series.
